DCC notes 24/11/2019

A mixed bag weather wise this past week however Sunday though drab and dreary stayed fine enough for all groups to get out for some winter miles.
Here are the notes from the roadโ€ฆ.

G5 headed out with 12 in the group today, they deviated slightly due to the reported road surface. They headed out the bog road, then on to Kilmolash with plenty of roll up practice. The group then headed to Cappoquin where they turned right for Dungarvan. With plenty of banter they were back in Dungarvan before they knew it. For the first time this year they had their coffee at the end of their spin at the Dungarvan Hostel. They completed 40km at an ave. of 19km. Well done everyone especially our two newcomers Martina and Shane.

G23K: The group headed off on their planned route accompanied by Mike our chairman and John our race coordinator . Along the coast road the group turned left at Durrow and headed for the N25. Cycling into Lemybrien the group turned left onto the Carrick road and on reaching Mahon Bridge turned right for Kilmac for the weekly coffee stop at Kierseys. On leaving the group were met by the incoming backroad group . Out of Kilmac the group headed for Seafield back onto the coast road heading in the direction of Dungarvan .On reaching the 5 cross roads the group turned right for griffins garage turning left for Mahon Bridge . Then it was back into Leamybrien turning for Durrow and then for home Dis 70km at a comfortable pace set by the group

There was 9 cyclists on the Group 4 spin on a cloudy November Sunday. We headed out to Cappoquin and then turned left at Richmond house and on through the Dromana drive encountering some rough surfaces and pot holes after the week of rain. On to Villerstown and one turned early the remaining 8 headed for Aglish stopping briefly to deal with a mechanical issue. It was onwards through Aglish and then turning right onto the road for Clashmore. From there we headed for Ardmore for the stop everyone glad of ... See more
